Brad Lidge suffered through some brutal losses, but Jose Valverde just handed away a game. Without much help, frankly.
Astros lead 3-0 going to the bottom of the 9th. Here’s Jose:
First pitch: home run.
Second pitch: hit by pitch.
Then a strikeout, and then another home run.
Then the next guy reaches on a strikeout/passed ball by Ausmus, and then a game-ending double to left.
Not sure how many wins Jose has taken away from the previous pitcher, but I think it’s four. I’ll look it up.
So instead of a decent 6-8 record, it’s now 5-9.
