I think I’m not quite ready to climb on the World Series train just yet, but 5-9 sounds a lot better than 0-8. It is a lot better than 0-8.
Still, the five wins out of six feel a little fishy and not just because two of them are over the Marlins. Three one-run victories, a two-runner and a four-runner. 24 runs scored, 15 allowed. The defensive figure is excellent, and maybe the Astros do have a decent collection of run-stoppers out there. But 24 runs scored in five games is just OK. You wouldn’t expect to win five out of five scoring 24 runs, which is why I’m going to stay in the skeptics’ camp for the time being.
