Without Berkman (shudder), the Astros do have a pretty clear course. Give Carlos Lee a first baseman’s mitt and find someone who can play a plus left field. Then, the Astros have good or better defense at five positions — all three outfield slots, third base and shortstop. That ought to at least keep them in games and help the pitching staff.
